How it works
A learning journey built on real understanding
Success GO turns the Year 3 curriculum into an adventure, but progress is always earned by showing understanding. Here is how it works for your child, and for you.
Step by step
From sign-up to mastery
Step 1: You register as a parent
Create your parent account with your name and email. Billing, settings and reports all live in your own parent area.
Step 2: You create your child's profile
A nickname and year level are all we need. No child email address. Your child gets a simple username and PIN.
Step 3: Your child enters the academy
Headmaster Ember welcomes them, Lucky the Kangaroo shows them around, and they design their explorer avatar.
Step 4: Watch, Learn, Play, Master, Celebrate
Each lesson follows the same five-stage loop with a teacher character, at your child's own pace.
Step 5: You see real progress
Your dashboard shows lessons mastered, strand progress and any topics where your child may need support.
Inside every lesson
Watch. Learn. Play. Master. Celebrate.
Stage 1
Watch
A short video lesson from an academy teacher introduces one new idea, step by step.
Stage 2
Learn
Guided practice with hints. Mistakes are part of learning: your child gets a nudge, then tries again.
Stage 3
Play
An adventure activity puts the new skill to work inside the academy's world.
Stage 4
Master
A short mastery check. Scoring 80% or more (after guided practice) unlocks the next lesson. Not there yet? A fresh explanation and a fresh set of questions.
Stage 5
Celebrate
Learning points, badges and avatar items celebrate real understanding and effort, never time on screen.
Mastery, explained honestly
How a lesson unlocks the next one
A lesson counts as mastered only when there are two pieces of evidence:
- Your child has completed the guided practice (the Learn stage).
- They have scored 80% or more on the lesson's mastery check.
Watching a video never unlocks the next lesson. Neither does clicking through quickly or spending more time on screen.
If a check doesn't go to plan, your child sees a fresh explanation and can try again with a new mix of questions, including at least 3 they did not see last time. Mastery checks start with easier questions to build confidence, then step up.
When a pattern of difficulty appears (for example, two unsuccessful checks on the same lesson), the topic is flagged on your dashboard so you know where a little help might make a big difference.
“Every hop counts!”
Lucky steps in with a fresh explanation whenever something is tricky.
Rewards
Points for learning, not screen time
Learning points celebrate understanding, effort and improvement. Nothing your child does can lose points, and points can never be bought.
| Your child's learning | Points |
|---|---|
| Correct answer on the first try | +10 |
| Correct after a mistake or a hint (persistence counts) | +5 |
| Finishing the Play activity | +30 |
| Mastering a lesson (first time) | +100 |
| Beating your own best on a mastery check | +25 |
| Mastering every available lesson in a unit | +200 |
Deliberately absent: points for logging in, watching, clicking, streaks or time spent.
Academy levels
A journey, not a ranking. Levels celebrate what your child has done and are never compared with other children.

What you see on your dashboard
Lessons mastered
Which lessons your child has mastered, based on their guided practice and mastery checks.
Honest strand progress
Strand percentages use the full planned Year 3 sequence, including lessons still in production, so progress is never overstated.
Healthy habits
A gentle break reminder after 25 minutes of active learning by default, adjustable in your settings.
